I have coached many gymnasts to National competitions, and full Scholarships for college. I love the sport of gymnastics because it can enhance so many different facets in a young child’s development. It will help with any other sport they may do, it teaches time management, and goal setting, to just name a few.

To relax and regroup, I ride bikes, kayak and paddle board. I love the outdoors and spending time with my 4 legged friend – Kona!

I have been a part of Somerton Gymnastics since I was 6 years old.  After graduating as a gymnast here, it was an obvious transition to become a coach.  After completing four years of college, I was ready to make this my career.  My goal is to coach with passion whether I am working with pre-school age or our competitive team.  I can only hope that the lessons I learned in and out of the gym through the sport can be passed on to my athletes.

I started gymnastics at the age of two and came to Somerton by the time I was four.  I went right to the competitive team and was a Level 9 by the age of eleven.  An injury stopped me from competing, but I never stopped loving the sport.  The gym has always been a second home and family. I’m so happy I get the chance to share my knowledge of the sport. I now play varsity soccer at Bensalem High School.

I have been at Somerton since I was 6 years old and fell in love with gymnastics.  When the time came where I had to stop doing gymnastics, I immediately knew I wanted to be a coach.  There is nothing that brings me more joy than helping and watching young athletes achieve their goals.  Outside of Somerton, I am a full-time nursing student.  In my free time, I love going to the gym to lift and spending time with my family and many pets!

I began my gymnastics training at Central Bucks Gymnastics where I had the privilege of meeting Donna.  I then transitioned into ballet where I obtained my education from various local teachers with focus in the Vaganova technique.  My pre-professional ballet training was obtained at schools such as: The Joffrey Ballet, Nashville Ballet, and Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet under John and Margarita White.  I danced professionally with Northern Plains Ballet before enrolling into school.  Now a wife and mother of four, I strive to share my experiences and knowledge with the students here at Somerton.

Gymnastics has been a huge part of my life since I was a little girl and I find joy in bringing out the best in every child who shows interest in the sport.  The life-long lessons that I learned throughout my 12 years of competitive gymnastics have helped to shape who I am today.  My family including my mom, dad and little sister Alexa love to travel and we have a Golden Retriever puppy that we love with all our hearts.  I find joy in watching children accomplish their goals both in school and at Somerton Gymnastics and I truly believe in the mission here of teaching the “total” child.

Somerton gymnastics started as a drop-off site for my gymnast daughter’s practices.  After her graduation and continuing gymnastics in college, I knew I would miss my connection at the gym.  I now manage the office at Somerton, afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays. Recently, I finished a sixteen year career as a preschool teacher.  (I enjoy interacting with the children that stop in the office with their parents.)  My husband and I reside in Trevose, we have two wonderful daughters, a great son-in-law and 2 wonderful grand children Johnathan and Ruth.

Why We Love Somerton

I love gymnastics. I love making friends with people that just started learning how to do tricks.
My coach helps us work hard. I love helping my coach demonstrate for people to understand what we are doing. I have so much fun at my class and so do other people.

Sometimes I get hurt but that’s how I learn if I fall, I get right back up and try again. Learning how to do flips is all I ever wanted and now that I’m learning how to do that, I’m happier than ever. Now that I’m in gymnastics I set my goal to go to the Olympics and so should you, and also just have fun.
